Can I work while studying in China?
It's possible to work part-time while studying in China. Previously, before 2023, international students weren't allowed to take on part-time jobs or internships in China. Now, international students studying at any Chinese university can easily find part-time opportunities, such as teaching English or other roles.
To ensure legality, you'll need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your supervisor. Simply submit this certificate to the International Student Office (ISO) to obtain a license for your part-time job.
As of now, to work part-time, you'll need either a student visa or an X-Visa. There are two types of X-Visas available: X1 and X2. The X1 Visa is for international students undertaking advanced studies lasting six months or more, while the X2 Visa is for those with shorter study durations. These visas are exclusively for students, ensuring compliance with Chinese regulations.
